1,770,300 EURO FOR AN OSMAN HAMDI BEY PAINTING

Dame turque de Constantinople auctioned at Dorotheum[1] 

A rare and opulent oil painting of a Turkish Lady, by the founder of modern Turkish painting Osman Hamdi Bey (1842-1910), was sold at Dorotheum’s 19th Century Paintings auction on 23 October 2019 for an outstanding 1,770,300 euro.

Following the sale of the 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL (€1,067,000) and the painting Madonna and Child (Associate of Raphael, €1,657,190), it was Dorotheum's third million-euro sale within five days.
