Greek back-loans | Rueckwanderer[1] ( Greek -> Arabic/Persian -> Turkish -> Greek).
1. According to A. Maidhof, AncGreek "kampylos" (crooked) gave
(via the Arabic) Tk. "kambur" (hunchback, whence ModGk "kampoyrhs" of
same meaning).
Is it correct as to the first part? I have some doubts. If yes, what
would be the Arabic word?
2. According to Gustav Meyer, Greek "psimmyqos, psimmyqion" (q stands
for theta, ps for psi) gave thru Arabic the Turkish "ustubec" (U with
umlauts, s and c with carets) or "istubedz" (white lead). However, he
writes the Arabic word using the Arabic script, indecipherable by me.
Is this etymology correct? And how is the Arabic word transliterated?
3. Turkish "halka" (ring, hoop, etc.) has, according to most Greek
dictionaries, its origin to Gk. "xalkos" (copper) or "xalkous" (made
of copper). Although in some late Greek sources (Hesychius)
there is the meaning of "ring" for these words,
I have my doubts. Any clue?
4. The Redhouse Dictionary mentions that Tk. "kelepir" (chance
bargain, golden opportunity) comes from Greek -without more info.
I managed to learn thru the man who wrote it, that the alleged
Greek origin is "kala emporia" (good commerce, literally) -
but he had his doubts and so have I. Any clues?
5. Turkish "paydos" (cessation from work, break, also as a
cry: enough! basta!) is most likely of Greek origin -probably
from "pausis" (whence also Lat. pausa, It. posa, etc.) but
I am lacking the intermediate words/languages, if any.
6. ModGr "pelte's" (pulp) allegedly comes fr. Turk. "pelte"
which would come from Gk. "polto's".
Unfortunately
I cannot seem to find the Turkish word in my dictionary.
Any clues?

(sesame-oil)?
9. Tk. "firfiri" (purpur, last i with a circumflex) is said by
G.Meyer to come from Gk. porphyra, probably thru
Arabic.
Any clues?
10. Tk. "ferace" (the garment formerly worn by women outside
the house) has its origin, according to many sources, to
MedGk "foresi'a" (garment), probably thru Arabic.
Any clues?
11. Tk. "filcan" or "fincan" (coffee cup) is Arabic, and this
according to some old sources comes from Gk. "pinaka",
accusative of "pinaks" (which, however, denotes a flat
object, a tablet or possibly a dish) .

[1] Rueckwanderer is from German. French word 'budget' is a loanword from English 'budget'. However, the English word is an older borrowing from French (bougette). Italians call them 'Prestiti di ritorno' and French call them, not very consistently though, 're'emprunts'. The Greek word is "antidaneio" (daneio meaning loan). In "The Lingua Franca in the Levant" Kahane and Tietze, used German word.
