The Golden Orange, Turkey's longest-running film festival, will be held from Oct. 10 to 18 in the southern city of Antalya.

The organizers of the Altın Portakal (Golden Orange) International Film Festival introduced the new statuette to be awarded to the winners of future editions of the festival.

The new festival award is a 33-centimeter angular and stylized statuette of the goddess Venus holding a golden orange in her hand and is based on the festival's first award, presented to Turkish film critic-director Halit Refiğ at the first edition of the festival in 1964, when his film “Gurbet Kuşları” (Birds of Foreign Lands) was named the best film at the national competition.
