Six films in the line-up will have their world premiere in Adana, while a further three will premiere in Turkey at the festival. Another five of the titles stand out as the work of firsttime directors. The line-up for the National Feature Film Competition at this year’s highly anticipated 23rd Adana International Film Festival has been unveiled. Twelve films have been selected to compete before the jury at the festival, which will take place from 19th -25th September 2016.

More titles that will world premiere in the competition include Handan Öztürk’s Bana Git De (Tell Me to Go) and Hiner Saleem’s Dar Elbise (Tight Dress). So, too, is Çağdaş Çağrı’s debut film, Geçmiş (The Past). İftarlık Gazoz (61!), the latest offering from director Yüksel Aksu, ranks among the other official selections. Director Reha Erdem’s Koca Dünya (Big Big World) was selected to compete in the Horizons section of the upcoming 73rd Venice Film Festival, but will have its Turkish premiere in Adana. Mehmet Salih, the debut film by Güven Beklen, will also world premiere during the festival. Director Çağan Irmak is another familiar name in the competition line-up with his latest feature, Nadide Hayat (A Unique Life). Derviş Zaim’s Rüya (Dream), on the other hand, joins the list of titles set to world premiere during the competition. This brings us to the final official selection for the competition, which is the Cemil Ağacıkoğlu directed feature, Tarla (The Field).
